About Nicole

I am Nicole Hamer, a degree-level qualified acupuncturist at Flourish Acupuncture. I work from clinics in
Leamington Spa & Warwick offering traditional Chinese medicine treatments.

In my clinics I provide a calm space where you can be yourself and unwind from daily stressors. My aim is to transform your physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing and enable you to be the best version of yourself… or in other words help you flourish!

I understand what it feels like to be chronically stressed and all the health complaints that can come with it. After working in a pressured corporate environment for many years I ended up with a burnout. Following a recommendation, I gave traditional acupuncture a go and can wholeheartedly say it did not just help me get back on my feet but it transformed my wellbeing.

My focus is on the Five Element approach, which is a gentle form of acupuncture focused on the whole person and addressing imbalances at the root. I will consider your main health problem, together with a holistic approach which is very different from medical acupuncture techniques offered by physiotherapists or chiropractors. Utilising my in-depth training I devise treatment plans which are uniquely tailored to you as an individual rather than using the same approach for everyone with similar symptoms. Therefore, treatments benefit not only your symptoms but can transform overall physical and emotional wellbeing and thus help with a wide range of conditions.

My special interest areas are mental wellbeing, women’s health and supporting couples on their fertility journeys. I am a member of the Acupuncture Fertility Network and trained to carry out bespoke treatments to help with both male and female subfertility as well as supporting treatments alongside assisted reproduction and Western medicine protocols.

I use very fine and often only a small number of needles during a treatment. If you are nervous about needles I get you. In fact, I am a converted needle phobic myself and work with non-needle techniques such as acupressure, cupping and moxibustion. Most people find acupuncture a very relaxing experience. As a holistic service I also offer dietary and lifestyle advice and I work with a range of high-quality herbal supplements.

I am a British Acupuncture Council member which means you can be sure you are in safe and competent hands. I am bound by strict Codes of Practice and am required to undertake a minimum of 30 hours of CPD activity every year. Some of the recent post-qualification training I have attended includes:

  • Electro-acupuncture
  • Acupuncture for Fertility Support
  • Managing the Menopause with Acupuncture
  • Master Tung acupuncture for pain relief
  • Herbal Food Supplements

My background

In my native Germany, I grew up with complimentary therapies being integrated in conventional health care and have been interested in natural remedies from an early age. However, prior to becoming an acupuncturist, I took the “sensible” career option and studied for a science degree. I then worked in corporate roles in the food industry for 15 years, such as for a global chocolate manufacturer (sweet spot of my previous career :-)). After suffering a burnout from long-term stress, I turned to holistic therapies and experienced first-hand the transformational effects of Five Element acupuncture to get me back on my feet. This is the reason I am now passionate about this ancient medicine and helping others improve their wellbeing.

I graduated from The Acupuncture Academy in 2022 and was awarded a Distinction for their Professional Licentiate in Acupuncture, which is a three year degree qualification (equivalent to 3,600 hours training) accredited by the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board.  I was also Highly Commended for my clinical work. My training was extensive and covered all aspects of Chinese medical and acupuncture theory.

My professional standards

I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council and adhere to the Council’s Codes of Safe Practice and Professional conduct. British Acupuncture Council members are also registered with the Professional Standards Authority which is a government body set up to regulate health and social care providers and is accountable to Parliament.

My clinics are licensed by Warwickshire District Council and I hold full medical malpractice and public/products liability insurance cover.

My philosophy

We must strive to see people not only as they present themselves in illness, but more importantly as they would be in perfect health and balance, in full discovery of their true nature, unique in body, mind and spirit.
